Checked this film out based on its star power despite of poor reviews. An adult tragic fairy tale in which washed out musician Rourke and angelic Megan Fox played an awkward pair of passionate lovers who would risk their lives for each other. The rest of the movie was a bunch of religious allegories to the Easter drama "Passion Play." Verdict: I can't believe I watched the whole thing ...

Good actors, however, not a good plot. What a shame and waste of time

The talents of Bill Murray are wasted in this mess. Dumb plot. Unsympathetic characters. Terribly paced.

Amazingly, this pretentious, simplistic allegory still manages to score some decent theoretical points about female bodies and social roles. But they’re not worth suffering through the film’s creepy, stunned dialogue and soundtrack or the implausibility that Mickey Rourke’s and Bill Murray’s smarmy, geriatric characters could actually be contenders for the affections of any desirable woman. As for their latest love object, Megan Fox, I agree with the critic who compared her botched eroticism to Miley Cyrus’s gauche fumbling in her "Can't Be Tamed" music video (http://www.slantmagazine.com/film/review/passion-play/5499). This cinematic travesty was screenwriter Mitch Glazer's first directorial effort. Let’s fervently hope it’s his last. (http://calicojack4.blogspot.com/)
Administrivial Addendum: This film premiered at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival, so why OPL lists its date as 2011 is beyond me. Could they be recording their acquisition date for the item rather than its production date (even though this possibility seems absurd)?

Huh. How long you been an angel?
-I'm not an angel. I'm a bird woman.
===
Where's my Lily gonna go? What is there for a girl like that? I'm her family.
I protect her from the real world.
===
So I get the angel... and you get your life. Sounds... religious.
===
How come you ran away?
-It was time to leave the nest.
Time to leave the nest. How about a bite of that apple?
===
Amazing as she is, it's not a normal...
-Fzck normal. Since when does normal win a goddamn prize, huh?
===
Hey. Hey, we're meant to be together.
-Oh, dear. Now you're talking in song titles. Nate, you're a man of the world. Not my world. But you look as if... you've lived a life. So you understand that everything changes. Everything ends.
