Elucidating depiction of a killing spree very out of the ordinary!

Unsure who green lighted this film. Good acting, no surprise there, plot king, boring, following a stolen car over Australia. Ending is inevitable.

When watching, ask yourself why Guy Pierce is so intent on getting his stolen car back, when this post-collapse world seems to have cars laying around everywhere. And the car thieves left behind a larger SUV, so why does he want that car…

If you want Michael Bay type film fodder with explosions and a surface pot, this isn’t for you. It’s an amazing piece of cinema that really shows you the amazing acting of Pearce and Pattinson. It’s one of my favorite films from Australia.…

This is a disturbing film on many levels but I liked it and will resist giving away the ending. The main element of the film is, what does a man remain faithful to after society has collapsed?

I shut this off after 12 minutes saying to myself, "What's the point?!?"

It's an abysmal film with senseless violence, and no character development.

Robert Pattinson is fantastic as a slow vulnerable southern American in this role. He was also great as an east coast tough guy in "Good Time". I never saw the"Twilight" movies but he's a very talented actor in these obscure independent…

Borng & pointless. Tried to watch for at least 30 min to see if got any better. It didn't. Fell asleep.

Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson are caught up in the mother of all economic depressions in a remote area of Australia. The some-what road trip film of these two armed and dangerous guys gives these two fine actors an opportunity to show…

I liked this movie, one of very few I could watch twice. I understand why other people didn't like it though. All the characters are horrible people, which is often the case in movies. Certain parts don't make sense at all either...Like,…

Not for everyone apparently, but I found this to be superbly atmospheric. Both Pattison and Pearce's acting is pitch perfect. It drills right into the soul of both characters in this collapsing lost world. Comparable to The Road, but…

The Rover illuminates a sliver of the collateral damage wreaked on society by a financial apocalypse, the latter an alien concept beyond the comprehension of people without the skills to count the nickels and dimes in their piggy bank. …

The entire movie is about a guy wanting his car back, period. Boring.

Trite, predictable; so much padding, it could be done in 5 min.
Jul 11, 2015brovnikdu rated this title 3 out of 5 stars
Worth watching because of the acting of Robert Pattison (pleasant surprise) and Guy Pearce (who is always great). They both were excellent.

A very disturbing ride for all. I was floored by Guy Pearce's performance; the man exhibits such unbelievable rage as the spiritually broken protagonist here. I kept saying to myself, "All this for a crappy futuristic version of a Toyota…

It is a boring film with long redundant dialogues. The violent scenes happen unreasonable.

A gritty somewhat more realistic view of life in a slowly degrading civilization. There are still a lot of issues with realism of the movie (where are they getting water? that truck seems to be getting remarkable miles per gallon). Robert…

Awful dialog (mostly grunts and mumbling), senseless violence, and an incoherent plot makes this almost unwatchable. The half star rating is there because it was mercifully short.

Difficult to watch: utterly brutal savagery, man at his worst and too numb to fight against it successfully. This film has the despair and desolation of The Road. There are glimmers of hope, but these are snuffed out, eventually. It is…

Interesting film. Takes place somewhere between now and Mad Max. Despite the apocalytic background, it's more a story of human understanding and somewhat of survival. Guy Pearce is great, as is Robert Pattison.
